Number of fire extinguishers required

Reading the safety guide it says that a boat over 6m and under 9m requires a fire extinguisher if it has a motor. It also says it requires a fire extinguisher if it has a fuel burning heater or stove. So if my boat has an outboard, as well as a diesel heater do I have to have 2 extinguishers on board or just 1 ?

I think two are required, if I remember correctly it’s written up as one for the engine and one for the stove. I’d have at least two at any rate, if you need them they empty pretty darn quick so why just carry the minimum?

You need 2...my set up is outboard and non-pressurized alcohol stove and I have 2

Thanks guys. It's not a cuddy but it is a hardtop and I have a Planar heater in it. I was thinking I needed 2, just wanted to be sure.

I always have 2 aboard. Why not have the extra protection?

I picked up a couple of 10BC's instead of the required 5BC's. Slightly bigger for only a few extra dollars and came with metal brkt instead of plastic.
