What about them Canucks? I won a bottle of crown royal on that last game.......
St Louis tonight and i think they might have a tough time they always seem to struggle with the crappy teams.
If they win we will be in 3rd place in the western conference.
What the hell happened to Calgary? Where do you think Kovalchuk will go?Ray whitney? Sheldon Souray?
Few Rumours Vancouver is shopping ..............

Let's hope it's at least that! St. Louis is one of those teams like Nashville and Minnesota that always seems to have our number. A win would be a nice 'send off' to start the 14 game, 6 week road trip :D

I'm totally loving the Flames sucking. I get tired of hearing about how great they are all summer from the "Northern Texans". I think Kovie to the Kings - Sourey to Anaheim - Whitney to the Bruins and Neidermyer(UFA) and a 4th rnd pick to the Canucks for Bieksa (i hope). Oh yeah, 4 - 2 Nucks 2nite:D Go Ripper! [B)]

I gotta agree with ya on that one. For a team that hasn't made it out of the first round in eons I get tired of listening to it too.

I just don't see them moving Kovie to the Kings unless a notable name comes back which I don't know if they'll part with anyone at this point? Atlanta I don't think is going to settle at this point for a bunch of 'prospects' in return. The only notables I could see coming out of LA would MAYBE be Frolov or Ryan Smyth. I can see some merit in the 'rumours' of the Flames and Chicago looking to get him but I don't think even unloading some salary that they would be able to sign him for the rumoured $9-$10 million he would be asking for. Chicago may give someone up for a rental like Sharp??

Souray...who knows and who would really want him at that price? He is injury plagued and had one all-star season but has disappeared since then and has been non-existant in Edmonton. Anaheim may be a good call though, as if they lose Niedermeyer at the deadline or he doesn't come back next year they have NO ONE but Ryan Whitney in the D-corps.

Whitney....to Boston? A big rival on the east coast? I am not so sure....I will tell ya this much for a 'rental' til the end of the season I would sure take him with the opportunity to sign him again for next season. He will undoubtedly be worth less next year but is still playing good hockey out east.

And....the annual Niedermeyer debate. ;) I would love to see him come up here to finish things out but the question would remain as to whether or not he is going to play next year? As much as Bieksa makes me pull my hair out at times I don't know that I would give him up for a rental as he is on contract at $3.5 for one more year.

Whitney to the Devils, if they get another scorer, look out in the east.

Souray will go to the Anaheim, they need another puck moving D and a PP specialist, but who they give up???

How about Marty Turco??? A legit starter or deemed to be a back up?? St Louis? Toronto? or a contender for the cup??

I hope the Van does not get Neidermeyer, but if they do, they get him for nothing, Like Bieksa or O'Brian. Do not give up a good young D or F for him. In the long run it will not be worth it.

If Vancouver meets Chicago in the playoffs this year it will definitely be a fast/rough series....With Vancouver winning the series!:D
Niedermayer will be O.K. like you say.....if we don't have to give up too much.
Does Van have any money left in the cap? Or did Louie take it all.

I'm hearing Kovy to the flyers probably with carter going the other way, a niedermayer for bieska trade would be great, that guy in my opinion is a cancer to the team, just doesn't try hard sets a bad example. Apparently we're right in on the ray whitney sweeps and even gillis is talking to the thrashers about kovy but I'd say unlikely there will be other teams with more to offer, hockeybuzz.com is great for rumours,

Hockey buzz is not regarded as credible source. That Eckland is right about 1% of the time. [B)]
 
i know what you mean but it's interesting, he just throws everything up there and some things happen alot more don't but you get an idea who's talking to who, what players are on the block, I've been reading that site for years and it's alot more accuarate than 1%. if you've got a better source for nhl rumours maybe you'd be kind enough to share it with us.
 
Anyone on here Bet on hockey games? ODDSET? POINT SPREAD? OVER/UNDER?
I usually make a couple dollar bet every night....managed to win a few times...Usually pick ties on ODDSET.

Yup.....now and then. won a good one either last season or the season before picking 5 ties that ended up paying out around $1500 on I think it was a $5.00 bet.

In my "humble" opinion....not a great trade. Bieksa may have his issues....but is still a decent d-man worth more than a trade for a rental. He is tough and had a decent offensive side to him. As I said earlier....he DOES make me pull out my hair at times but to give him up for Niedermeyer would not be that smart. No one knows what Niedermeyer is going to do next year and to trade a guy like Bieksa for what could very well turn out to be just a rental is not a good call. There are teams out there that would like a Bieksa and we could get someone decent back that is under contract and not just borrowing someone for ~20 games and a few playoff rounds.

We only have 4 DECENT d-men under contract for next year and Bieksa is one of em'. Mitchell is gone unless he takes a pay cut and with Salo being injured all the time AND still under contract for another season we gotta watch how much we give away on the blueline.

I gotta agree with Sitka...."if" we do get him I hope it doesn't cost us much. He would be a pretty good addition on our d-line for the 'home stretch' and hopefully into the playoffs but not worth giving up a decent trade asset for a rental. Now....if we could give him Wellwood or Bernier I may be a bit happier. ;)
 
Wellwood has the potential to step his play up a level or two like he did last year in the playoffs. I'm willing to wait until this years playoffs to see if he motivates himself again and helps when it counts. If he doesn't, he's run out of chances. I think Bernier is what you see is what you get. If we could get a decent player for Cory Snieder with Bernier thrown in to make it happen...then do it.
