You are a very informed fisherman, NOT <img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>

well when there is bass showing up in slews and estuaries of the fraser then ya i am concerned.
real stupid people are importing these critters to these waters.!
a contained lake is great for this sort of thing.and yes i do know the fish have been on the island for a long time and supposenly contained---NOT---.
bass are a big predator in the food chain.
the lowermainland has had large amounts of bass showing in placeswere they never have been before.
you people might enjoy bass fishing but there is a lot of lowermainland fishermen and women that do see it as a illegal fishery.
the idiots that are transplantin these critters to our waters are no better than low life poachers.
and before any of you say it yes i have caught bass both small an large.
im not sayin anything about the fight, yes pound to pound they do scrap.
but they are big feeders.an they do like the minnows.
i,ll even bet some of you agree with the snakeheads showin up in our waters.
another illegal fish transplanted in our waters.
go to hope and fish kawkawa lake catch the smallies and then ask your self hmmmmm how did these get here and why is dfo deniying this fact.
and i know o never share your oppinion when it comes to the bass here and never question who brought them here.cause everybody has to go off the wall about the bass fishery in b.c.
well have fun with it.

Ok correct me if I am wrong but I would think that the trout would have a feeding frenzy on bass fry. So to say the the bass are a danger to the trout stocks is not justified It probably helps the trout to grow bigger as it is an additional food source. the bass have plenty to eat from bugs to crawfish to perch and sunfish. I really think the bass and trout compliment each other. I live in victoria and I am an avid salmon and trout fishing maniac. I rarely fish for bass probably cause I hate sitting in one spot and casting getting caught in weeds and logs, it frustrates me to no end and i don't enjoy it. I have though nailed a couple of large bass trolling a large bright yellow jointed rapala. one being 6.5 lbs. and man they fight awsome I wish i fished more for them but I find it boring and frustrating. But I think it is awsome that they are in the lake. my problem is I have a desire to nail a huge trout but I have to find the secret to catching them. To bad we can't go fishing up in the golf course in codorva bay wow now there's some trout. anyway good luck fishing. All the best bob
