Modifications you're proud of...

I have one of those Eagle depth sounders as well - I should add it to the stern!

Knew this feed would come in handy.

That is an extremely well thought out cleaning table. Nice work!

Even a drink holder!! Now that is smart thinking.

Tips

Damn, guess I shoulda patented it and made my retirement fortune. heh heh heh. Actually they are dirt simple to make and each boat will have its own idiosyncracies to work through.Anyone wants more details or any questions about how this one is put together for my striper, just let me know. Others experience may vary ;)

I moved my easy steer from the back of motor to the front --- it is sweet especially when its rough or you want to move all the time --take 30 seconds now --took 4 flat pieces of aluminum and a lot of patience and a few lucky's

Hi all. Long time lurker but newly signed up as a member. Modifying old boats is what I do so thought my first post should go into this thread. Here's a pic of my old 16.5' K&C thermoglass. Everything stainless that you see on it I built at home in my shop. Swapped out the manual downriggers for electrics and added a GPS module to my fish finder since this pic but everything else is the same.image.jpg

Hey, thank you very much. Look forward to being here. Off and on here for the last couple years but thought it time to join up.

Very nice work man . Welcome to the nut house lol. What kind of bender are you using for the ss tubing?

Thanks a lot. Its something I love to do so don't really consider it work. I have a DiAcro bender. Pricey but well worth it IMHO. Smooth, wrinkle free bends and built for industrial use. Mine came out of a high school in Winnipeg. But the tooling to work tubing was/is expensive.

I was getting worried about my gunwales being able to support my downriggers, with 48" booms and 15lb weights, and wanted all my fishing equipment in 1 location. The bolts you see right outside of the Swivels connect to 1026 Base plates mounted UNDER the gunwale, one of my more clever inventions. I had to go to the Scotty factory to get some extras of those bolts they put on the through boom rod holders(they use the same thread as the Swivel Base)... Removable by 4 hand tightened bolts, what's more is that 2 of the bolts have little holes drilled through them and have a small padlock to prevent theft. (Believe me, drilling a hole through a threaded piece of hardened steel took a lot of patience)...

Pursuit 2470 modification

I have a 1995 Pursuit 2470 Walkaround, which is a absolutely a great boat, but model years '95 - '98 came with a what Pursuit termed an "integrated transom" which included a sink on both sides and a fishbox in the middle that was deep, but short in length for big chinooks. Subsequent years of this boat came with a bench seat / fishbox which solves this problem, but takes room from the large dance floor. I decided to try a modification of my integrated transom to increase the fishbox length, have 1 sink, and add remote steering.

Photos 1 & 2 were of the moments in the project I wondered if this would really work?
Photo 3 shows the poly box made by Ronco plastics I chose to make the new fishbox out of.
Photo 4 shows finished fishbox with drainage.
Photo 5 shows sink and aft steering.
Photo 6 shows box in use. Sorry, there have been larger fish in the box, and the stainless shows some surface rust which is now gone, but this is only photo I had.

A great boat is now better.

Very nice work, that makes your rear deck area way more useable. How long did that take you to complete.

Thank you, I am proud of what I ended up with. Pondering design and finding a Ronco tank that would work for such design, 2 months. Work to cut out old, create supports for new tank, plumb tank, plumb sink, insulate tank, and redo starboard lid, maybe 8-10 hours, but I'm not fast. Steering took and throttle unknown extra time longer. DAJ

I also added custom hatches made by Fin-Addict Marine shown in the photo attached.
