Fisherman's last stand - A very good read.

And now his buddies blame the Coast Guard ????? Tragic.. but he made his choice.

What a terrible loss for all

Indeed.

The story despite its length does not really explain what caused his death. The last you know of him is that he is at the helm working the motors trying to get it off the rocks, then all contact ends and eventually he is found days later in his bunk. Did he have a heart attack from the stress and in extreme pain went to lie down? Did he realize he was not going to get the boat off the rock and went to his bunk to wait for rescue or death (going down with the boat)? Was he so cold with near zero water and sub zero air that he sensed the end was near and went to be comfortable or be where he would be found? It is curious to me that he was found in his bunk. I wonder what the autopsy determined.
