As an old dry-docked surfer I live vicariously nowadays and thanks to modern technology and stuff I can enjoy footage like on this vid.
Not fishing but pretty cool regardless.

    Take care.

Thanks for sharing Dave. Such a great perspective. There were some epic days in October at JR in October!

October was always my favorite month when I lived there.

Beautiful days with a good swell and the water as warm as it ever gets plus good Cutty fishing in the river-mouth worked for me back then.

    No crowds either.

Major problem was all the kelp that had built up during summer being torn loose and creating some floating rafts that got in the way sometimes.

Used to like Sombrio that time of year too 'cause there would often be naked women involved. LOL

    Take care.

Yes, but there is a strongly established and enforced pecking order there which limits problems quite a bit.

    Some incredibly good surfers too.

    Take care.

Wouldn't want to meet up with one of those waves out on the bank fishing...

I dunno. i just feel like, I would unknowingly grab the wrong wave and Warchild would show up and punch me in the face and cut my lanyard. So, i think i'll give it a pass.;)
