Hey guys,

In the middle of june i will be heading to Campbell river for a week with the guys from work. We are all new to that area, but not new to salmon fishing. Any idea where we should concentrate our efforts? And what gear is proven for the area? We are staying at salmon point. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I would keep an eye on these 3 links as the fishing in the area from Comox to Powell river to Campbell River can be very productive in certain areas at any given time. If you check out Facebook, Powell River Fishing Reports shows that Coho Point (Northern tip of Texada) is producing well right now as is Grant reefs.

Fish the hump or the “wasteland” between the red and green cans. Be prepared to deal with the tides and fishing in excess of 250’ feet of water. My reeling arm looks like Popeye around August. You’ll get into them for sure
