Looks like it is only a matter of time now before the Harper government is run out of Ottawa. Now if they can get rid of Campbell the world will be good again!! NDP and the Liberals are joining together to get rid of Harper, Everyone welcome your new PM .... Mr. Dion!!![8D]

Take only what you need.

I think I'm gonna puke! My gawd, Dion, Layton and Duceppe running the country - just shoot me now! What a friggen disaster!

Or... we may see a Harper majority gov't sooner than you think. Those three will trip over one another in their race for the cash box and Harper may just come out of this better than before.
If not... Lord help the WEST.

This is nuts! Can you imagine the Liberals and NDP going to a party that wants to destroy the country and asking for support and getting it. We have enough problems in this country without going through these shenanigans.

My concern is a bit different in that I was happy with the minority government in that a strong opposition cuts out the arrogance of large majority , now who in the hell asked them to change it around ? If I had wanted a Liberal in my riding I would have voted for one , now we are going to have a coalition of little men of no charisma or vision back slapping and divvying up the plumb Ministerial appointments ;I didn't vote for that nor did I even want that as part of their mandate !
Now I'm really P''''' off.

Those of you that support this coalition must be blind.

Blind to the fact that Mr. Ducceppe and the seperatists will not support the coalition for free. And since they want to destroy Canada, do you think what they ask for will be good for the country?

Blind to the fact that this is clearly a power grab at best, and has been in the works since before the election...as NDP caucus tapes show. How anyone can now support a party that goes so far against democracy for their own benefit is beyond me...the NDP and Bloc are disgraceful...to Canada and democracy around the world.

Blind to Stephane Dion's unbelievable plan to become Prime Minister without actually being elected. This man is so desperate, so power hungry that he must go against what he said during the election and form a coalition with socialists and seperatists just so that he does not become the 2nd Liberal leader to not become PM. This man is what is wrong with Canadian politics...and what is wrong with people in general. To have the tanacity to go against what people voted for selfish, power gaining reasons should **** off anyone...whether you voted, Conservative, NDP, Liberal, or Green.

Blind to the fact that political instability brings even harsher economic consequences. Just look at today....worst loss in the TSX's history. It is hard enough for one party to govern, yet again 3 with very different platforms. Do you think it will be stable? Do you think that it will help the economy? Don't be absurd. This will result in even worse economic effects. Imagine Bob Rae as Finance Minister...look what he did to Ontario.

I truely hope that this results in an election, as there is no way Canadians can or should stand for this. If they do...I am ashamed to call myself Canadian...that is something I never thought I would hear myself even consider saying. If we do go to election over this...it will certainly be a Conservative majority...history (the King-Byng affair) shows us that Cdns won't stand for this.

Your all just pissed cause you wasted a vote[)]

Take only what you need.

SerengetiGuide, Who are you arguing with?
Or is your last post just a carry over from your dealings with the Ottawa crowd you are hanging out with.
Give people some credit to the fact that most will see this as politics, not governance. And ALL the parties are guilty of playing it right now.

Post deleted, off topic. Can't WIAT for the NDP/Liberals to get in there, up my taxes, install a carbon tax/cash grab, and re-distribute it to all of the non-conformists on the corner of Douglas and Yates to help better their lives.

Most of Canada thought that Harper was the best choice, had he been a little nicer in Quebec, maybe he would have hit a majority and we wouldn't have this mess. I hope the Governener General calls an election, and the Left Wing Rebellion gets ther arse bounced out of Parliment so the government can get back to working.

Oh, and by the way, don't think for a minute that Harper didn't plan this out.
- Play hardball at the first opportunity
- Force the oppostion to side with the devil
Then sit back and crow to the masses and pull out the separetist card.
NICE.
Probably work too.

Ottawa crowd and a few in the media. Plus some of the bozo's on seperate political forums and what not...and possibly anyone who was thinking it lol. Just stating the side of the debate....it's a frustrating thing to see happen....considering how inept Dion and Jack the Ripper are.

Shutting down Parliament so Stevie can cling to power is not an option.

Remember this Mr. Harper the people who voted green, will not be this time around, they will rally to one party, and you will find yourself OUT, one way or the other.

How sweet it is, He should probly accept his fate and step down on his own free will, the writing is on the wall.

Can you say Kelowna Accord!!

Found this little bit of humour about what is going on

Jack and Gilles
Went up the hill
To find Stephane crying.

Jack reached down
Picked Stephane off the ground
And said, don’t worry; we’ll just keep trying.

It’s on the books
We can act like crooks
And the government we can steal

It’s easy to do
With Gilles, me and you
As long as we strike the right deal.

So hand in hand
Along with a plan
The three skipped down the hill.

It won’t take long
To explain that the voters were wrong
And our own ambitions we’ll fore fill.

Life as we know it will be for ever changed if these three bozo's come into power.

I do have a question for you Fish Assassin...

What is your gain in this BS change???? How do you benefit from this coalition??? You are the only one who seems to be in favor of this change, at least on this site.

Pi$$ed off about the whole political picture in this country....

I never thought I'd support a Sitkaspruce post after the slagging I've taken in the past but like I've alway's said...I've got thick skin.
I agree with the question...
The Fish Assassin, what do you have to gain?????????
And on another topic, Serengeti probably has more insight into what is happening in federal politics than any of us...hell he's going to school to possibly be a polition for all we know.
some of what he say's is supportive of Harper which is his opinion but he bring's to the table some good insight of what is actually happening back there
I can tell you this....personally...the whole thought of a NDP, BLOC and Liberals all getting into bed together for personal gain is sickening....it's all bad politics and not the direction our county should be headed....

While one might argue none of this soap-opera is good for the Country, is this not a great example of parliamentary democracy?

If the governing party does not have confidence from the House of Commons, it is perfectly legitimate that the Governor General ask the party with the next highest number of seats if they can govern with confidence from the House.

Hard to feel sorry for Harper when he provided the opposition with the opportunity to do this. I think no matter what happens he won't be the leader of the conservatives much longer...

Looks like Parliament will end up being prorogued in the end anyway. That is it will be shut down until January with another throne speech. Despite what some in the media are saying, Mr. Harper does not actually need to ask the Governor General to prorogue, she is actually required to do of his asking when it comes to proroguement (is that even a word?...is now anyway).

Fish Assassin, you have yet to bring one point to the table...all you can say is essentially the thread name...bye bye harper. Yet you give no reasons as to why this would be good for the country as a whole. Maybe you are seperatist!?!?! Please enlighten us with all this knowledge you employ...;)

Today almost every major stock index in the world had positive gains...the Dow Jones up almost 200pts...yet the TSX was in the red by nearly a 100. This shows that the world has no confidence in Canada due to political unrest...bad news for those of you planning on retiring sometime soon, and for pretty much anyone who invests (aka everyone).

As much as Harper may of screwed this one up (yes, even I will admit he made a big political misstep), he is still better than Layton or Dion...by country miles.

As a sidenote I'm actually taking Commerce (Finance and Managing People and Organizations) but have always attended the house of commons regularily as well as worked on Parliament. Usually 2hrs of my day consists of reading about the Cdn political scene.

I definitely believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion...but at least make it an educated opinion (Fish Assassin). That is the problem with so many people my age these days...they believe all they are told by the media and fail to do a lil research for themselves.
