1 more dumb ?

2 engines,is the only reason to run two engines versus one is for a safety reason.I would guess that a single 250 should get better fuel milage and speed than twin 125s.one engine should be cheaper than 2.what am i missing .

Two engines with counter rotating props wont torque your boat and provides a more stable ride.

I the case of a deep V hull a single engine may not be long enough to clear the hull, so twins on either side of the deep V works better.

If you've got the $ I guess go for two. Why not get a good high torque kicker and save some $'s, weight and gas?
