    Out today on Constance from 4:30 - 7pm. One hatchery Coho. watermelon coho killer. Missed another. Pretty slow but at least ended dry streak.

    What's the science behind fish holding in certain places and not others? As a child I fished Oak Bay flats often. Hardly ever came home with much. Now, I fish mostly Constance bank and the waterfront. Seems better in August, September, October. But this year it's been dry for several months...

    Out today again at constance from 11 till 4. Not a bite. Didn't see any other nets come out on the other boats either. Fair number of seals tho one of which took off with flasher and all. Waiting on those Sooke fish to come thru.

    Saanich Inlet

    Not sure if this plays a factor for Salmon but Saanich Inlet is Seasonally Anoxic (depleted in oxygen) in Spring & Summer. Fishing Bamberton or just outside the inlet itself could yield results. Or maybe just the top layer of water...

    Thanks for the awesome explanation. I get it now. March 8 has a 0.3m fluctuation. Today we had almost 2M fluctuation...not so good.

    Whoever you go with ensure it covers "Hull & Machinery". I use Coast Claims. Had an excellent experience having a complete inboard covered due to catastrophic failure.

    Tried Constance today. Came up empty. Ended up bucking the afternoon tide for a couple hours. Black/whigd, green/silver spoons & coho killers. No dice. Nice sunset tho.
