I was hoping to take a crack at Oliphant lake and atempted to scout it yesterday. Looking at Google Earth, it seemed like quite a few logging roads nearby. We went on the road to Spectacle lake, Whittaker(?)rd off the Malahat and drove farther up but the gate was locked.
Anyone fished it...
I wanted to start this thread to see what most of you guys thought of local bassing.
This started from seeing Jockey's comments herehttp://www.sportfishingbc.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4597&whichpage=2
Thats so cool that there are largemouth in elk lake now. I caught a really small one...
I was wondering if anyone had some crazy fishing tales for the rest of us.
Mine? Today I took my kids (5 and 7) out for some prawning and crabbing. While the traps were setting, I decided that they could catch some dog fish for entertainment. So while a strip was bottom bouncing I am chucking...
I know that there are a couple of bass fishermen here.
So I thought we could share some info and results of late.
Me? We are camped at Zuiderzee which is on Quennell lake so I have been hitting there almost 24/7.
Tubes are so so (the tentacles are getting chewed off by little dinks) and...
Anyone interested? Anyone going?
I think the fishing will be great! Scouted out some spots yesterday with my father and we caught a few good sized bass.
Plus it'd be cool to see a face or two.
I am wanting to get a Minn Kota motor. More than likely it'll just be one of the transom mount jobs for now. Has anyone gotten any tips for me? ie; don't buy 'X' as it is unnecessary or buy 'X' cuz you'll need it
Was just wondering if anyone had a favorite outdoor humour author or anything. I have been a big fan of Patrick McManus for a loooong time.
And then there is the guy who writes some of the 'filler' for the back pages of In-Fisherman.
Anyone else to mention of?
Hey guys. My wife and I are going to make a little trip to Quennell Lake for 2 days. Just us, no kids. ahhhhhhh.
Anyway we are going to try bass in the mornings and evenings with trolling for trout in the days (or maybe bass too with some Rapalas)
So does anyone have any tips, like colours...
Hey guys. Just for a kick in the head I thought I would share these pics of my wife. She had her first taste of bass fishing on Fuller lake. Sure bass aren't popular (or that big there) but she had fun and that was key in my eyes.

Thanks for all your bass tips guys. My neighbour and I are going to take a trip to Shawnigan on sunday with my buddy's dad. It ought to be interesting..... 2 bass newbies and 1 experienced east-coast bass fisherman. But these smallies seem to be different from the eastern ones. Least that is...
Now I don't to be too annoying or labeled a spammer but most of you should remember what it was like to be so hooked on bass fishing at first. So I have been surfing around checking out different resources and came across this nasty forum topic (elsewhere of course) of the 'hated introduced bass...
Hello guys (and gals?)
I have discovered bass fishing and found this place in an attempt to lose my "newbie-ness".
I have lived in Crofton all my life(31 years!) and have fished locally when I was younger but only for the teeny tiny trout we have here.
So now I have tried bass fishing in...
