Not sure if anyone here was planning to fish the Red Can to the Spit on the weekend - but it was nearly impossible... There were literally hundreds of floats in that stretch this morning...it looks kind of out of control...not sure why this year is so insane. Also tons of traps at the Powder...

After doing well this past weekend at the Bluffs, we were hoping for more of the same. We were out there tonight from 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm. Saw lots on the sounder, but no love for us. Didn't see any nets either. We fished anchovie, spoons, and pink hootchie, without a sniff.

Well today was a different story for us from Sunday. We were out 5:30-8:00 am jigging at the spit again, and this time drew a blank. Not much going on the sounder (compared to previous days recently). We did see another guy land a small spring jigging also. We did have a bizarre experience...

Great night in Sidney channel last night, we played 8 fish in a matter of 2.5 hrs. Was out with my 5 year old daughter and a buddy, high slack! Went 3 for 8, and had to contend with some seals, but it was a total blast. Feels fishy this year! 15, 9, 8lbs.

Yes they were fishing Sidney Spit and started at 6 am. 80 ft on the rigger using squirts. Hope it wasn't just a one-off!
