GPS/Radar question

Looking for a little advice...

I purchased a Lowrance Elite 7ti at the boat show for a pretty good deal (700) and it is still in the box able to be returned. I also just found a new Lowrance 4g broadband radar for $1000 so I jumped on that deal. I know they are not compatible so this is my question for you guys, what would you do in my situation?

a) Keep 7ti and find a used larger Gen2 HDS unit to run as dedicated radar.
b) Return 7ti and get a Gen3 HDS-7 and run as standalone.

I would say get a larger screen myself, easier to work with and view especially split screen when running radar .

Where did you find a deal on the radar ? Been trying to find a 4g or 3g to replace my broken unit .

ok, larger 'all-purpose' unit then?

cabelas had a couple that they couldn't sell, then they went on clearance.

Yes , the bigger the better , it will be easier to view and navigate with .

It’s not needed to have a stand alone radar. Set it up with Navionics and overlay your radar when needed.

I'd return it, you should be able to get a 7 touch hds for about $900 with a transducer and then add an 8 or 7 2nd generation networked in the future. Great deal on that g4, that's half price!
