Vancouver Boat Show Jan 17-21st

Anyone ventured out to the show today? Any good deals on gear or electronics? Planning to go on Friday after work and spend some money on unneeded toys.

andrew has a great deal on spoons, i was looking for a auto pilot but did not find any screaming deals

swim baits, new steering wheel and a wet proof pack, screamin deals yesterday at harbour chandler.

i saw a helly hanson jacket for 1300.oo!!!!

Definitely some deals to be had! Just got back from the show. Some good deals at the 'credible' ;) tackle shops being PN&T as well as Harbour Chandler....and the novel thing is guys in the booths wanted to talk to you!!! Let's just say the booth from the store near Granville Island and south Richmond....couldn't be more useless.

PN&T had buy 3 flashers at $12.99 get a 4th free. Some good mark downs on other tackle. HC had a wide variety of specials.....thankfully I came out of both booths relatively unscathed in the pocket book. :p

Only thing I can say about that "other" retailer previously referenced.....they have good mark downs on Mustang inflatables. Not sure how their regular pricing aligns or if it's just to make the show specials look better but most were at a minimum 1/3rd off. (but don't ask for any assistance ;))

@Andrew P Buddy....your spoons look awesome! Was going to introduce myself but you had a few waiting to talk to you and we were moving through the show pretty quickly.

Also......if you were looking at a 31' Grady....you can upgrade to the 34' @133K per foot!;)

How was his talk? Thinking about going back to check it out as didn't have time today.

Going on Saturday. Hoping to get another trophy titan 10’6” and a magna BBQ.

Are there any boat top booths? I need to get a top made for my boat. But I doubt they can give a quote on the spot anyways.

I’m sure I’ll walk out with another Trend X5 reel if they are low $200s

Spending that tax return before you file taxes!

Didn't notice but it would not surprise me. There were upholstery/foam vendors...hell there was even a guy doing an infomercial type booth for the world's greatest squeegee. Felt bad for the guy as he was not getting much of an audience....actually NO audience as opposed to "much".

Maybe there is an exhibitor list on the show's site?

Flying down from Smithers tomorrow morning. First time checking out the show. Was going to check out Granville island first thing and then spend saturday at bc place. Good idea? Is there anything that is a can't miss? Was gonna introduce myself to Andrew from AP. Our fish up here in the Douglas channel seem to LOVE his spoons. Other than that is there anything I should make a point of doing/seeing?

Do they have craps in Smithers? I was considering coming down and would have undoubtedly paid for my trip by playing my proven craps system at the Casino. It's right close to BC Place. The wife hummed and hawed, then whined about my tackle taking up all of the computer room and half the basement, so I'm out. Plus, I don't mind paying for a luxury downtown hotel occasionally, but the $40.00/night to park pisses me off to no end.

I went to the show today and I'm staying at the Blue Horizon Hotel on Robson. Newly renovated. I'm on the 30th floor in a corner suite with ocean views of English Bay and the North Shore. Its an executive suite, nice room and as a BC resident I got it for $199 plus tax. Parking is $17.50 a day and is onsite. They have cheaper room starting at about $149. I stayed here last year and found it was good value. When I was in my teens the bar in the Hotel used to have a Beatle tribute band play from midnight to closing...the place was packed and alot of fun.
