Under the Cedar Nanaimo River bridge as i type this and don't know if I've ever seen this many salmon in one chunk of a river before, Could almost walk across the chum.

Cowichan and Goldstream are scary bad though

They are waiting for water on Cowichan and Goldstream. When rains hit this week numbers should change. A flood of coho should also enter. This weather isn't helping.

That'd be great to see a bunch run up this week. Had to call DFO and report an asian guy netting Chum beneath the Cedar rd bridge today, would catch four walk em up to car then come back down. In 20min there he took at least 12, nevermind before that. Hate seeing that as once in the river let em spawn!!!

Was just out for a cruise from French Creek up to Big Qualicum. Excellent showing of chums right from Eaglecrest until just east of Big Q. Finner bunches and jumpers all the way and lots of fish well off the beach too. Also 5 humpback whales working the bait that is still abundant up off the Little Qualicum.

Is that what the commies were fishing outside of Departure today around Fingers area...they were all concentrated north but fairly tight.

once in the river let em spawn!!!

My old man used to tell me when I was a kid fly fishing in the rivers in the fall for Cutthroat, "If I catch you messing with the spawning salmon, I will kick your butt around the block!" I went fishing Chums in the Sooke river one time and I felt like a jerk hammering on them with my old man's voice echoing in my head.
