Just got home from a great day on the water. Brought home a beauty 15#'er not far from the bell, 40 prawns and 3 massive crabs.

Couple nice ones today off south end of Bowen. Tried hunting for the hump in the am but got discouraged at the lack of boats and wind at the time, so stuck to what I knew.

Looks like it paid off very well for you, congrats!
There were about 5 boats out at the hump but only a couple early in the day then a few more showed up, then the wind picked up a fair bit and it cleared out at that point pretty much.
Keep you're eye on the wind reports and if you pick the right days with wind directions you can ride the waves in and out if the wind directions are suitable for it. The fish aren't in just one specific area of the hump. They can be found all over, in all the different contours. I've got a couple favorite spots I spend more time on there and other guys like other areas. It's a very large area. If you mark waypoints on your chart when you hit fish you can go over those areas more in the future to see if there's a pattern with more fish showing in certain areas.

They fish next to docks and "structure" when they reef in a 2lb bass completely winded and elated. I can jig away saying the winner is down there.
