Need help bayliner 2155

Just installed a aluminum swim grid on bayliner 2155 has anyone installed flotation tanks underneath to help in planing and to lift the stern up while trolling ?

I think what you are referring to is know as a "sponson"
 
Sponson I believe are out to the side I'm wondering about flotation directly under me swim grid extending the back of my hull
 
Now what your referring to is a pod.To work at planing speed it has to be structurally tied (bolted) to your transom and follow the existing shape of your hull.Is the boat butt heavy?I assume it's an IO?
 
Try putting a couple sand bags(2 x 50lb) in the bow , should help and much easier. Bayliners are well know for their heavy asses.That what I did for my old 2455 and worked great

I had a 2255 that was a dog getting on to plane. I filled the front with a 100 lbs of old wheel weights. Was like a new boat after that.
 
all aluminum I assume?
