Flashers and dodgers for trout

What works best for you? When down rigging we usually use dodgers off the downrigger ball with the hook about 3' above and back 15'. When not down rigging we use dodgers in line, never flashers.

Anybody put a gang troll off a downrigger ball?

Nailed a nice 4 lb'er in Osoyoos Lake , #1 dodger 48" behind 5 oz of lead.
Timing was good , it had 2 3" minnows in

Attracting fish is overkill? I'm confused.

Lots of guys put the gang troll on the ball, it's better there than on your mainline causing all that drag and taking the fight out of the fish. The problem is however, if you are fishing in less than 50 feet of water and the water is clear, your mainline needs to be way back of the boat as Trout are boat shy, which then in turn renders the dummy gang troll useless because you have 100 feet of line out, clipped to the cable, your lure is not anywhere near the attractor.
