Started fishing with my Dad, between Five Fingers and Dodd Narrows in 1956. In a 16' clinker-built - fir frames and cedar, powered by an Easthope with an iron pipe through the gunnel for exhaust. He used a 50-50 Tom Mack spoon; nothing else. We caught lots of fish! Later, we fished in a 12' tin boat in Cowichan Bay - powered by Viking. Winter steel-heading on the Koksilah - just spin-n-glows. I've fished most of the inside to Pt. Hardy and the outside to Nootka Sound. Did a bit of fishing in Costa Rica and in Mexico.
Now I fish around Bamfield in the summer. We go out with
buddies, my son-in-law and my 3 year old Grandson. Great fun with the little guy - full circle, I guess.

Ocean and fishing - Never have been able to get away from it - never really tried.
