Campbell River!! Here we come!

WooHoo! Going fishing next weekend at the fabled CR - first time! Soooo stoked. Any suggestions, hints, tips etc???

Are you staying at a resort? I have stayed at painters and i got 5 nice fish in 3 hours or less fishing. They fish at the lighthouse or further up north. If you have a choice choose up north. I found great fishing up there . I also stayed at april point and i fished down near the lighthouse and got skunked :(. This is just my personal preference. I also fished of the large pier it was fun. People catch up to 60 pound chinook and lots of coho off of it. I have seen many big fish caught off of it but i have only caught a lingcod off of it. I think the fishing is best in mid to late august when all the fish are getting ready to go upstream. hope this helps!

cambell river is ok..i use to fish there all the time but dont tell the cambell river locals there that i said this but i honestly think portalberni is better fishing.....
