View Full Version : Nanaimo local lakes, are they any good?

I goto long lake,westwood lake, diver lake and brannben lake all year round which would be our best bet for trout or smallmouth bass? Tell me if you got any good ideas or advice

Awsome! thats a big mother! what did u use if you dont mind me asking.
the biggest i've caught was at Long lake in Nanaimo on a rainbow rooster tail.

I think it was about 1.5-2lbs and about 17inches long

i think gibbs makes them the "cowichan spoon" there all right but they can sure twist your line up sometimes.

is that right,well i think what i'm doing is working pritty good cuz i had losts of action last night! Everytime we put the hook in the water my worm was gone and that went for a rid on our lines but nothing laned Grrrrr!

I heard today that they were catching quite a few smallmouth outta Long Lake. Granted they were deep but they're starting to move some more now.

I go to Green Lake in Nanaimo and I catch 2 pounders and less all summer long.Using a floating Repal.Anyone interested in going to the lakes around Nanaimo let me know.Im also looking for a new boat this year.14' alum with a 9.9 hp and an electric.Can anyone help.
