Look for the Island Angler Bass Book found at talkle shops, they name all the good ones. Elk is probally the best you will find though.

Never fished the interior but from what I've heard you would be hard pressed to beat the islands numbers and size. I have seen numerous 5-8 pound smallies ripped from Elks loins.

Quenell lake, near Cedar and Yellow point has annual bass tournies. No idea who organizes that.
Shawnigan has bass. Hell someone even stuck smallmouth in Fuller!
And of course St Mary's lake.

`fraid so. As all the bass I have caught there are pretty small I don't think they are going to be a problem for awhile. They're even in Crofton lake now.
And sunfish in Chemainus lake too. Someone is a little 'intro' crazy.
I have been really jinxed by Shawnigan. I like Quenell better and plan to hit Elk more this year.
