View Full Version : winter springs and hungry whales

Was out at whirl today and was having good luck. I noticed a splash about 200 ft away and saw 4 killer whales chasing a bird. This was a first for me, I've seen whales hundreds of times but never seen them hunt a bird. They would chase it under water then hit it with there tail. Just at that moment I hit a double also, so there goes that therory that whales scare the fish!

yea seen that quite a few times in barkley sound and who had a theory about whales scare away the fish??i thought it was seals

Yo CS,

Ya a sight to see for sure. There seems to be a good nuber of winter springs down here running from 3 to 10 pounds. Won't be long till the odd 20+ shows up!
