fresh water fishing

I have just moved here from Sask and need some info on where to fish and what to use etc.

well for rainbow trout an awsome lake is kootney lake or okanagan. okanagan might not have as big as trout but they give a grand fight.i suggest at the vernon end of o.k. lake right in front of all the cabins. we use the tazmanian devil Frog* its green and yeallow with black spots. also troll fast maybe even a little to fast.(it might sound weird but it works trust me) we do and have honestly have NEVER been skunked we always come bak with a couple nice ones!!

Does anyone have any information on fishing Stave Lake??? I have heard it is either really poor o0r really good and I do not know what to believe. However I would like to learn how to fish it if I can bring home 2-3 lbs. fish.
