Kinda thought this was in the works after yesterday's Emergency Meeting was canceled.

Well overdue! Might actually give the new LIEberals leader a run for the money... IF they pick someone with a little bit of competence that is...

I met a really smart 41 lb spring once-and he'd get my vote-much more clever than any politico I know and an honest straight fight!!! Nuff said-this province is amazing for the inept politico's we grow-the liberals are on the ropes-deserved or not-the NDP figures they should walk into gov't and they descend into bickering and self implode. Unbelievable-must be tough to be a leader and just when it looks like you get the prize all your so-called loyal followers drag out the knives and cunningly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!! Guess we deserve the gov't we get-hope another party starts up-I can't vote for either of these! My afternoon rant!!

Rafe Mair!
He'd rock the legislature for sure. Ardent fisherman as well. The salmon-farmers would be shaken in their collective boots!

Bob Simpson , if he runs. I have never voted NDP in my life , but I would vote for him. Boater and Fisherman , understands small business and not a bullsitter.

Listen, did you hear that... a tear just hit the floor, no wait it was a condensation drip from my beer bottle.:p It is for the better, they may stand a chance at getting a couple of votes now (depending upon who takes the leadership role). Either party is definately a crap-shoot as to who will lead them into the next election. It is still going to come down to voting for the lesser of two evils:mad:. It always seems that no matter how good a politicians intentions are when they start out in politics, those intentions become a distant memory because a leader that doesn't have the support of his peers, gets tossed out on his or her ear. We need someone that is willing to buck the trend and stand up to the floater politicos that are in the system. (that is one of the only good things that I can say for old Gordo, he did have a back-bone, may have been a bit of an a$$ to some but he had big ones). I know I couldn't do that job, I would definately go INSANE being surrounded by so much stupidity. Back to fishing, something that does make me happy.:D

Not a huge NDPer, but with James gone I can at least have an open mind, and maybe another choice.

Considering the choices we have, I think I'd almost give the Marijauna party a go...

No kidding. Its a joke. Ive pretty much gotten numb to the fact of all this government crap. Its starting to seem pointless as anyone who gets any sort of power gives us way more reasons to hate them rather then more reasons to like them!

The real problem isn't the leaders we elect. They are just one person. Sure, their party line and personal beliefs come into play, but almost negligibly in reality. The real problem is the beaureucrats who's jobs are not related to who runs the province or the country. They are not effected by party or elections. They are the real government. You could vote in a Walrus and nothing would change. As a matter of fact, without someone at the top changing anything the odds of increased damage actually drop!
I say we revive the Rhino Party. Now that was a political party worth voting for! Back in the late 80's they actually almost won a riding in Calgary. I think the spread was less than 100 votes! Just goes to show how sadly desperate things are in the Canadian political scene. As for the Good politicians, even though their hearts are in the right place, they soon get tired of smashing their collective heads into a brick wall trying to change a system that won't allow them to change it and they are either ejected from politics or they quit before they put a gun in their mouths.
Sad, Very Sad.

He is running for the leadership...it's official now...hmmmm...makes me wonder what to think of who I'll be voting for next election as I saw him debate when I was only in gr 11 at Brentwood College, liked him, seemed kind of too businessmanish for me but seemed like a straight shooter

gotta be able to run a party before you can run a province.

Have to agree with that Holmzie. Campbell is a prime example of a puppet - bought & paid for - by the Yanks and the Norweigians and our Super Natural British Columbia has never suffered worse for it than under his stewardship...

i disagree beemer, afterall a party is made up of individuals, you cant control them all all of the time, this province needs a bunch of independants to run and get elected, i think that would send a message to all that the old style party politics is very much outdated, the leader of a party is merely a puppet most of the time anyway.....holmes*
Yup , I agree with ya Holmes , but we both know the likelihood of that happening! Hopefully with some fresh leaders we can get this province back on track! Little Hawk I have to diagree with ya , but I still luv your avatar I just wish you could click on it to make it bigger ! I can't tell what kind of fish those are !

Oh Terry, don't be silly....British Columbia has suffered a LOT WORSE under previous regimes. This one was just the latest and most easily remembered. I have been self employed for almost 40 yrs. now and the last 10 were a hell of a lot better than the first 10. Oh, and re: the avatar...I have the original photo (sans bikini) She's older than she looks !!! I will show you the next time you're in Cache Creek. Den

Hats off to anyone who decides to run for public office. Think about how much crap that entails 24/7. Not worth it as far as I'm concerned. I would like to see Mike Hick's run for premier...a good ole boy...a Ralph Kline for BC!!! Politics in BC would become entertaining and worth following.
