We went to Pender island today for a switch up from sooke chasing sockeye. Had limits of 8 fish for two of us by 10:00 am. When you hit the schools most of the rods would hit including a quadruple. Lots of fun. Dummy flashers, four rods in the water, red flasher, little pink squirts with the white glow head.
Is it worth trying for springs

How deep were you finding them at the bluffs? Thinking of heading there in the next few days if I can make time...

we were 60 to 90 feet and we stayed further out then the pack and were around the harbour. there was about 30 boats on the bluff. Sunday was good also but we only got 5 untill the wind blew us off around 11:00 am. other boats we talked to trolling the bluff also picked up some. Troll around until you hit the schools and most of the rods take off.

Good luck Monaro21. Give us a report as I'm hoping to get out on Friday.
Hope they stick around a little longer.

Where are the Pender Bluffs? Anyone could post a map or gps coordinates please?

Pender bluffs on the south side of North pender, just west of bedwell harbour.
when sooke final dries up for sockeye , the bluffs might be good for a week or so as some run past the bluffs and the way to vancouver.

Was out off of the Bluffs today in the perfect weather. Could not get out until late morning so we were only able to fish from 11 - 3. Had four hooks-ups with two rods in the water. Lost three but did put one nice one in the boat (sockeye). All of our action was at 60 feet on the downrigger. About 40 other boats out total but most were well spread out so it did not seem busy. Lots of sockeye jumping and saw several schools at the surface too. We are going to try again at the begining of next week so hopefully they will stick around a little while longer.
Good luck everyone!

We got out last night for a few hours. Within a minute of putting out gear down we had a sockeye on. 70 feet on a red flasher and small pink squirt. We thought that would be a sign of things to come, but we couldn't find anymore after that. Didn't see any other fish caught in the 3 hours we were there. Nothing on the sounder either.

Was out off of the bluffs today from 7am - noon. Fished three rods in flat water with less rain than expected. Boated one sockeye and lost one other. No other action for us. Only about five boats out and everyone was spread out so we only saw one other fish taken. Our action was at 45 feet on the downrigger.
