Perhaps one of the hottest lures out on the market locally
for salmon fishing this year is Radiant's New Tiger Prawn
Hootchy. The new lure was designed by Fred Packford and Jack
James, long-time local manufacturers of effective fishing
lures and founders of Radiant Lures. Meant to be trolled for
salmon behind a flasher, this new lure has proven itself as
a great producer of chinook salmon in the coastal waters off
Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
n theory, this new lure was designed to be fished in deep
water (where the lunkers hang-out) to imitate shrimp or krill--hence
the color configuration and the name Tiger Prawn. According
to numerous reports from local anglers, the theory seems to
work, as it has accounted for several salmon being caught
over 40 pounds.
This lure can be purchased at most major tackle stores throughout
the province.
