This area includes the Queen Charlotte Islands, and the area
of coastline that begins at the south end of the Alaska Panhandle
continuing southward as far as Milbanke Sound. This area has
frequently been described as containing the richest marine
environment on British Columbia’s coast.
This is the one area on the coast where a predominant number
of the fish returning to West Coast rivers pass by, affording
a consistent Chinook (Spring, King) salmon fishery throughout
the season. On occasions, anglers can actually witness runs
of these magnificent fighting fish approaching points of land
in large schools, as they swim the surface waters exposing
their dorsal fins. For the angler, such a sighting often precludes
a day’s fishing they will never forget, as the action becomes
fast and furious.
This area of coastline is filled with hundreds of fiords,
rivers, and inlets which are witness magnificant returns of
world class salmon. This region of British Columbia has recorded
some of the largest salmon and halibut ever caught in the
Pacific Ocean, and continues to produce quality fish in large
numbers. click onto the area of your choice from the map above,
