Within Tahsis Inlet and Nootka Sound can be found some of the finest Pacific Coast salmon fishing to be had. Excellent runs of powerful, ocean bright Chinook and Coho salmon migrate through these waters consistently throughout the salmon fishing season.

This area has gained a great deal of interest over recent years due to the large number of returning Chinook salmon heading into this region (see Lodges in this area click here). Both hatchery and wild stocks of salmon and steelhead has accounted for the success of the thousands of anglers who visit this area annually. It is common for anglers to fishing here to consistently catch their limits of Chinook salmon.

This region also produces good results for the Halibut fisherman, who will find them feeding aggressively on the offshore banks.

The area contains lodges with full amenities available, as well as guide services from Gold River (click here). For those trailering boats, good access to the area can be gained from Gold River, at the innermost reach of Muchalat Inlet, or from Tahsis.
