From Cape Caution southward to Vancouver are a series of
magnificent fjord-like inlets featuring several remote lodges
in spectacular settings, where mountains drop almost vertically
into the water. This entire area teems with wildlife, and
provides access to early season winter Chinook salmon from
April onwards.
Mid-summer brings transient runs of Coho salmon and Chinook
salmon heading down coast to their rivers of origin. The area
is well known for consistent salmon fishing that is set in
a backdrop of breathtaking beauty.
The myriad of islands and channels provide well protected
waters for the angler, and many of these mainland-side fishing
spots can be accessed by the northern Vancouver Island charter
operators.
The waters of Sullivan Bay, Kingcome Inlet, Knight inlet,
and Bute Inlet are exposed to the vast numbers of migrating
salmon swimming southward around to the top of Vancouver Island.
