The Central Coast area of British Columbia consists of the area of coastline from Milbanke Sound to Cape Caution. Located just north of Queen Charlotte Sound, this area has a historical reputation for being one of the best Chinook Salmon fisheries in the world.

Discovered as a primarily a haven for the commercial fishery due to the large salmon found in this area, it was not until the 1970's that this area gained a reputation for producing some of the largest sport caught Chinook salmon found anywhere in the Pacific Ocean. Popularity grew quickly, as famous persons such as actor John Wayne frequently visited the area to experience the exceptional fishing.

Today, the fishing is still considered to be exceptional in both Rivers Inlet and Hakai Pass. Trophy sized salmon are still caught each year off these waters in good numbers, making this area a virtual "hot spot", for anglers looking to catch trophy sized Chinook Salmon.

The central coast area is further blessed by some of the most panoramic scenery on the whole of the coast. Thousands of tiny island, channels, inlets and fiords make the area literally breathtaking.

Visitors to both Hakai Pass and Rivers Inlet have luxury of staying at well established comfortable lodges, while enjoying great salmon, halibut, and cod fisheries at their doorstep.
